Micro-atmosphere Gwangju Design Biennale, South Korea 2009
Invited at Gwangju Design Biennale as KGSD
Seungteak Lee, Mijung Lim, Jungmin Nam, Okhyun Kim, Kyung H. Won, Leehong Kim, Minyoung Lee
The installation of the tension field explores the experience of ‘micro-atmospheric rest’ in the material qualities of a spring and its relationship of forces, which is an architectural interpretation of the Korean garden Soswaewon. The ‘micro-atmospheric rest’ is defined by the various spatial qualities of the bamboo garden: visual corridors through the forest, different air flows/winds of natural ventilation, constant filtration of light and shadow, and the mingling sounds of bamboos.
